A Complete Service
Pearson in Practice is dedicated to delivering assessment and training that satisfies the needs and priorities of the transport and warehousing industries.
We are one of the largest ‘on site’ providers of assessment and training. Whatever your training and assessment needs, our fast, efficient and reliable service is geared to meet the needs of small and large businesses.
Developing and building a qualified workforce doesn’t just mean that your business is compliant with industry standards – it also makes sound business sense.
Trained and qualified workers make a difference to your bottom line. Fuel economy, improved productivity and fewer accidents are all benefits of ensuring that your team are fully trained and assessed. To say nothing about improved business status and better contracting opportunities – all of which makes a significant impact to your success and long term growth.
With the current market, there’s a lot more focus on training and qualifications. Those workers with an industry qualification are in a much better position. I now have drivers asking to do their NVQs because they have seen their workmates receive their NVQ qualifications. They see the benefit of getting properly qualified and they also feel more ownership towards their work and to the company.

Pearson in Practice is an approved Joint Approvals Unit for Periodic Training (JAUPT) for Driver CPC. We can provide for all your drivers’ training needs.
We will arrange the necessary training to suit your business, aiming to minimise the impact on your productivity. Our range of one day courses allows you to pick and choose the right training for your operation. We’ll work with you to make sure everything is in place for every driver.
Vocational Qualifications (VQs) are nationally recognised work-related qualifications based on national occupational standards, developed in partnership with Sector Skills Councils like Skills for Logistics. Usually the cost of NVQ delivery can be met through government funding.
NVQs are an excellent vehicle for providing training to your employees while protecting your company against possible prosecution under the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007.
Businesses who embrace NVQs for their workforce put themselves ahead of the curve. With every driver requiring training under Driver CPC, the distinction of NVQ qualified staff means that your business is best placed to benefit from improved status and contracting opportunities.
Our reputation is driven by getting our client’s workforces qualified quickly, taking the pressure off you by ensuring that we work around your operation to minimise any effect on productivity. Working nationwide, whatever the size of your business, we are the specialists in training and assessment, helping to design and deliver individual and companywide training plans determined by your business need.
Through government funding, we can deliver VQs at little to no cost to you, whilst our Driver CPC training is competitively priced. Our NVQ delivery is carried out completely on your premises (office, depot and even in the driver’s cabin) – meaning that there is no requirement for your team to take time off to attend college. Our industry experienced VQ assessors handle everything, including writing and portfolio building, observing your team whilst they work in order to gather evidence for the VQ.
The Pearson in Practice team came in and worked around our operation causing a minimum of fuss, quickly inducting and signing the drivers onto the programme and carrying out their assessments on the road. The assessors have also been giving useful advice on fuel efficiency and drivers’ hours that can only be of benefit to our operation.
