Why this course?

Digital marketing continues to evolve at a ferocious pace. Online research, digital marketing, social media, mobile technologies, animation and search engine optimisation are highly effective ways to establish a presence and create the right impression in a competitive marketplace. Not to mention the growth in online film and audio, and the need for companies to be able deliver all aspects of the digital marketing mix to a consistently high level.

The programme is designed for any company or any individual that is interested in using creative and digital media, and is particularly suited to marketing or advertising agencies, web developers or PR companies who want to stay ahead of their competitors. It is also relevant to in-house teams who want to improve their digital output without incurring high outsourcing costs.The course includes Adobe Certified Associate Certification, which covers training in Adobe products such as Photoshop, Flash and Dreamweaver.

Duration

The programme runs for around 9 months. All apprentices will complete 8 weeks of off-the-job training at a Pearson in Practice Training Centre where they will gain an understanding of the industry and the employment opportunities it offers.

Apprentices study for the following qualifications:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Creative and Digital Media (QCF)
  • Level 3 Certificate in Creative and Digital Media (QCF)
  • Key Skills: Application of Number
  • Key Skills: Communication
  • Key Skills: Information and Communication Technology
  • Adobe Certified Associate Certification

Units covered will be:

  • Media Audiences and Products
  • Communication Skills for Creative Media Production
  • Understanding the Creative Media Sector
  • Adobe Certification using Adobe products, Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver

Entry requirements

English GCSE grade A-C. In exceptional cases, highly motivated applicants with the right attitude may be accepted onto the programme.

Career progression

The course offers an effective route into many entry level positions across the creative and digital media.
